Here is a story about Barongswari. Once upon a time, it was about the marriage of Bhatara Guru and Bhatari Uma. They had a son named Bhatara Kumara. Bhatara Guru was really happy, but Bhatari Uma was so sad because her son never got close to her. Only for breastfeeding. Bhatara Kumara went to his mother, and after that he always stayed beside his father. It made Bhatari Uma mad and one day during breastfeeding, Bhatara Kumara was treated coarsely by his mother. Then Bhatara Guru came and saw his wife like Kala not like the God. Bhatara Guru was angry and said “If it’s the way you behave, like a giant, deserved to be Durga not the Goddes. Go away !” Bhatari Uma left the heaven and went to a silent village in the forest. She was crying and her milk dropped to the ground then it was told that a banana saba was growing and it was believed that it is good for baby. Bhatara Guru was cursed Bhatari Uma became Durga, then he went down to earth to look for his wife then changed Rudra Murti. He met Dewi Rohini in her castle, they were both in the figure of kala because they were influenced by Durga. A disaster happened in the earth. Bhatara Tiga saw the situation in the earth. Then they created Barongswari for Bhatara Guru and Bhatari Uma for realizing themselves. They danced at every crossroad, T-junction, and they made prosperity in the earth. Finally Bhatara Durga Murti and Dewi Rohini realized themselves and danced together. But they didn’t want to stop. So Bhatara Brahma created a puppet shadow performance. Bhatara-Bhatari watched it and left the characters of Durga.

Keris is a cultural heritage of Hindu and it is a symbol of Linggayoni, as a Siva shrine, Sang Hyang Tiga Sakti. Keris can be used as a tool of worship, preceded by a scared ceremony called Pasupati Ceremony. The Balinese people consider Keris Tayuhan as a scared heritage because most of the religious rituals are conducted involving Keris as the media. Keris is believed to have 3 pieces of blades. The right blade of Keris is a symbol of Brahma’s power who has the power of Sidha (talent), the left side of the blade is Wisnu’s power who has the power of Sidhi (blessing), and on the top of the blade is a symbol of Iswara’s strength that has a Sadu Power (the eternal truth).

Not just Keris, you will see many kind of swords, artistic things made of coins, many kind of statue, a miniature of Balinese tradition for example Ngaben, and the other old things.  This museum not only in one area, but you have to walk around and it is connected with traditional door in Bali Culture. The concept of the building is also different in each building.
In this area, you will also find a temple named Jagatnata Temple, and a statue to commemorate a very historical moment called Puputan Badung. Puputan means a war until you die. Around the statue you will see a large field, people usually come with their family, sitting there, enjoy the fresh air and their foods. Outside the field, there is a jogging track. You can jogging around with the beautiful view. The ticket for entering the museum is cheap, not more than ten thousands rupiah.

So if you are a person who like to know more about Balinese culture, it is the right place. Hope you enjoy it !

Balinese people use “kuangen” for pray. They will pray with that and then after praying there will be 4 “kuangen” that change and will appeared letters on that, it means God choose them. Children who get that letters will participate the celebration and be one of the most important parts. After the election, they will stay for 11 days in Banua Temple. Villagers will make a special place for them to sleep, eat, and anything. They can not go home along the quarantine. There are 20 villagers everyday who will be there for them.

On the 3rd day, there is a celebration called “Ngamedalang Ampilan Sesuunan”. At night, the older will guide “Ida Ratu Hyang Pingit” to her place and before that villagers already clean the place. The place here means a special place for God.

The 2nd day in the morning, all the people in Bulian Village do a celebration called “Bhakti Pengajum” before go to the beach. We bring something that symbolize the God called “Sarad” to the beach on foot, no motorcycle and pray there until 3 p.m. and then back again to the Banua Temple. Source : http://balisoulmate.com/news/tradisi-unik-ngerebeg
Ngerebeg is a traditional culture in Kemenuh Village, Sukawati Sub-district, Gianyar Regency. People in there called this culture “Ngerebeg” or “Ngedeblag”. Even it has different meaning but it has a relation. The word “Ngrebeg” has meaning “drop” and the word “Ngedeblag” has meaning “aware”. So it means we try to drop misfortune or anything about bad things and we aware with everything that will happen now and in the future. It can happen now or in the future but to prevent that, we drop it by some noises. It is celebrated on Kajang Kliwon Sasih Kalima, because the older believe on that time there are many threats.
