Second, the election of the children. Something that very unique from this tradition is, one of the steps in choosing 4 lucky children for the celebration. First of all, the older will choose 11 children which is the children must be clean inside out, no mark, not sick, and under 12 years old. Then the older will give them “kuangen”. Balinese people use “kuangen” for pray. They will pray with that and then after praying there will be 4 “kuangen” that change and will appeared letters on that, it means God choose them. Children who get that letters will participate the celebration and be one of the most important parts. After the election, they will stay for 11 days in Banua Temple. Villagers will make a special place for them to sleep, eat, and anything. They can not go home along the quarantine. There are 20 villagers everyday who will be there for them.

On the 3rd day, there is a celebration called “Ngamedalang Ampilan Sesuunan”. At night, the older will guide “Ida Ratu Hyang Pingit” to her place and before that villagers already clean the place. The place here means a special place for God.

We bring something that symbolize the God called “Sarad” to the beach on foot, no motorcycle and pray there until 3 p.m. and then back again to the Banua Temple. In the middle of the night Ida Ratu Hyang Pingit back to her place. The next day, the big day, people in Bulian celebrate “Ngamedalang” tradition without Ida Ratu Hyang Pingit.

This tradition celebrated every five years. The greatest part of this tradition if you want to see is when the big day, in the middle of the night at Banua Temple, you will see many offerings, the 4 lucky children, Balinese dances, gamelan, and also the symbolize of the God called “Sarad”.

If the villagers doesn’t celebrate this tradition, it means they break the rule as a follower of the Ida Ratu Hyang Pingit and there will be a disaster in the village.
